Region to Experience Rainy Start to Week

We had one sunny day, hope we all enjoyed our Sunday. Clouds are back today.

There are some raindrops, especially in southern and western New England this afternoon. It is a gray chilly afternoon with temperatures holding in the 40s. Rain will spread from south to north tonight with temperatures rising a little bit in the 40s to near 50 degrees by morning.

We wake up to a gray and chilly Election Day, with patchy dense fog and drizzle. We may dry out for an hour or two, then we'll experience another round of showers and thunderstorms moving from west to east during the afternoon.

We'll also see a series of fronts, first a warm front today and then a cold front tomorrow. Rainfall amounts of more than an inch are possible in a few locations when we add up the two events. There may be some localized wind damage, especially in Connecticut, with any thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon.

The sun comes back on Wednesday, with a high temperature close to 60 degrees. Cooler wind arrives from Canada on Thursday with a mixture of sun and clouds and high temperatures in the 40s north and 50 south.

Yet another cool, wet system moves in Friday. That may be cold enough for snow in our mountains, otherwise it turns wet Friday into early Saturday. We will again have a windy Saturday afternoon, too early to say how much impact, and then the pick of the weekend once again looks like Sunday with cool and dry weather.
