Shaking Off the Chill

It wasn't meant to be for the Sox last night, but life goes on in New England. Unlike in many other parts of the country, we have the beautiful foliage and bright days of October to soothe the pain of a shortened playoff season.

Take a look at the leaves in full color in Worcester, Vermont this afternoon! Peak color won't last much longer there, but it descends to Southern New England in the days ahead.

Temperatures are on the mend too. After a widespread frost, we'll head back to the 30s and 40s overnight as clouds sweep in overhead. Tomorrow the clouds will blend with the sun, but that won't be enough to keep us from the upper 60s areawide.

Our next chance at wet weather is a small one on Thursday. Not seeing a connection between the tropical moisture and a front this time. Instead, the front will limp in with a few light showers or quick downpours by late afternoon or evening. In its wake, the cool air will return on a gusty wind Friday. Weekend looks superb with more sun and cool air. Perfect for outdoor plans...or tailgating at Gillette.
