Snow is causing roads to be slick in Connecticut and heavy winds are leaving thousands without power across New England Wednesday morning.

WVIT reports snow squalls in Fairfield County, Connecticut, are causing problems on the roads and have delayed some schools.

Snow has fallen in the Fairfield, Westport, Stamford and Danbury areas and Route 7, Interstate 84 and the Merritt Parkway (Route 15) are particularly slick.

The Union Leader reports as many as 22,000 were without power overnight Tuesday in New Hampshire. Less than 4,500 customers of Eversource were without power by 11 p.m.

The Portland Press Herald reports that nearly 13,000 customers of Central Maine Power Co. lost power Tuesday night from the severe wind. Those totals were down to 2,400 by Wednesday morning.

Eversource reported a few hundred outages in the Boston area Wednesday morning. National Grid reported 806 customers in Massachusetts were impacted by outages Wednesday morning.
