Snowstorm Causes GPS Devices to Malfunction; Drivers Sent Into Dangerous Situations

Police in Maine received a couple of reports from drivers using GPS, who were taken into extremely precarious locations during Tuesday's snowstorm.

One such incident had the driver of a tractor-trailer driving the wrong down on Water St. in Augusta.

The second incident involved a commercial vehicle going down an extremely steep hill on Spruce St., also in Augusta. The vehicle slid through an intersection due to the steep embankment and the operator not being familiar with the location.

Police are asking the public to use caution, common sense and safety during bad weather events.

Necn reporter Danielle Waugh will have a live report on this later this afternoon.
