Spring temperatures have returned across New England for this Sunday.

Highs top off in the mid to upper 50s, and it's much less windy than Saturday. Most of the day remains sunny, but late afternoon clouds arrive.

Overnight a moisture-starved cold front moves through from north to south. Evening flurries and clouds are likely across the northern mountains.

Mostly cloudy overnight for southern New England and a chance for a sprinkle or light shower through the morning commute. The clouds will keep overnight lows a tad milder in the 30s.

Colder air drains into the northeast through Monday into Tuesday. Highs go from the mid 40s Monday to around 40 degrees on Tuesday.

High pressure takes over for the rest of the work week. This means plenty of sunshine, some seabreezes along the coast from time to time and modifying temperatures as the week goes by. We stay rather dry until the weekend.

Highs in the mid 40s Wednesday, around 50 Thursday, then the warm up takes over. A ridge of high pressure pumps in warmer air for Friday as we reach the low 60s.

Across the interior Saturday we could make a run at 70 degrees in a few spots in southern New England, overall temps in the 60s.

More clouds are in the forecast this weekend as a cold front lingers just to our north and west. A few showers may move into northern New England Friday into Saturday. Another round Saturday into Sunday. The widespread rain and cooler temps may not move through the northeast until Sunday into Monday.

Too early to say if this frontal boundary stalls out-if so this could mean a repeat rain chance Tuesday as well. Temps in the low 50s to begin the next work week.
