Summer-Like Temps May Return Later This Week

As we close a fairly nice weekend and start a new workweek, the pattern remains in an autumn-like mode. Expect some cool mornings in the days ahead (nothing surprising) and pleasant afternoons under a blend of sun and clouds.

Onshore winds will limit our reach in the afternoons, but by the middle of the week, the warm weather will again flex as highs jump back into the 80s regionwide.

Our only threat for showers seems to be during the afternoon on Wednesday, and even then, the chances aren’t all that great. The front is weak and starved for strong upper level energy/moisture. That said, we could still pop a couple of thunderstorms.

That foray into the 80s looks like our only major warmup until next weekend, but it certainly isn’t the end of summer. All long-range models are in agreement in bringing toasty 80s back to the forefront next week.

This may be a 2 to 3 day stand of above normal temps (and mild mornings). Until that point, there’s not much to sustain the heat thanks to fast-moving cool fronts.

Tropics remain quiet for the next couple of days, but there are some weak systems stirring in the Atlantic that we have to keep our eyes on.

Have a great week!
