Summer Weather Giving Way To Rainy Mess

Highs will still approach 80 degrees again on Tuesday, but we'll find more clouds as a cold front nears

After a soggy Sunday, Monday brings a return to some sunshine and summer-like temperatures.

Highs will range from the upper 70s in parts of Northern New England to upper 80s in the warmest corners of Southern New England. Those toasty spots will be found through the Connecticut River valley.

Highs will still approach 80 degrees again on Tuesday, but we'll find more clouds as a cold front nears. That front will trigger scattered showers, downpours, and even a few thunderstorms during the day. The risk of wet weather will be highest during the afternoon.

That cold front will then sit offshore, providing a focus for the tropical moisture associated with Tropical Storm Colin. Fortunately because the front will be offshore, that moisture looks to miss us.

By Wednesday cooler air will flow in behind the cold front. Highs in the 60s will be found through Northern New England with 70s in Southern New England. A secondary disturbance swings through during the day, popping off a few more afternoon showers. Those will be of the hit and miss variety.

The cooler air continues to move in on Thursday and Friday with highs on either side of 70 under a mixture of sun and clouds.
