Sunshine Today, Pop-Up Downpours Expected Thursday

Hazy, hot, and humid weather continues around New England Wednesday, with temperatures in the 80s to near 90 degrees.

The haze in the sky is actually wildfire smoke blowing all the way from Alberta, Canada.

Overnight skies will stay mostly clear and lows will be in the 60s to near 70.

Humidity increases Thursday as the wind turns out of the south. Sunshine early in the day will give way to more clouds during the afternoon, and a few pop-up downpours and storms north and west of Boston. Expect highs in the 80s.

Downpours and storms will become more widespread on Friday as a front nears, and the humidity peaks. Expect some localized flooding in the heaviest rain. The wet weather will become less widespread during the afternoon, and will partially clear at night. Highs will be in the 80s.

Right now, the weekend looks warm and sunny, with highs in the 80s to near 90. It won’t be quite as humid as it will be late week. An isolated storm is possible Sunday, mainly over the mountains of Northern New England.

The hot sun continues into next week, with generally quiet weather through the middle of the week.
