Warm Weather Wednesday, Storms Possible Later This Week

Wednesday should be warm, but there's a freeze warning in effect for some areas overnight

We are in for another beautiful day with lots of sunshine, though temperatures won’t be as warm as Tuesday, when many in Southern New England made it into the 70s.

High pressure will be present, allowing for a mostly sunny day with highs in the 50s north and 60s south, while a bit cooler along the coast due to a sea breeze that develops Wednesday afternoon.

Skies are expected to clear Wednesday night, and the wind will be light, so this will allow temperatures to dip into the 20s and 30s north with lows near 40 degrees south. With that said, there is a freeze warning in effect for coastal New Hampshire and Maine, where the growing season has begun, so it’s imperative that you protect your plants.

Thursday starts out chilly with a few more clouds around, but it looks to stay mostly dry. Highs will be in the 50s to low 60s.

There’s a system impacting the middle of the country, with severe weather from Texas to Illinois, and some of that energy will be headed our way Thursday night and Friday.

Friday will be wet, gloomy and cool with rainfall totals of more than an inch over Northern New England and less than an inch of rain south. The low pressure will move out just in time for Mother’s Day weekend.

Saturday starts out with clouds and drizzle along the South Coast, Cape Cod and Islands, but drier air filters in quickly from Canada, and by the afternoon we will all be enjoying a mostly sunny day with highs in the 60s to near 70.

Sunday starts out bright, but clouds quickly move in and there’s a chance for showers during the latter part of the day.

Temperatures will be near average over the next 10 days while our unsettled pattern continues.
