Warm Start, Cool Finish to Weekend

Sunday is cooler behind the approaching cold front, but still sunny

Sunshine will boost temperatures into the 70s and close to 80 this afternoon, making it feel more like summer than fall in New England.

A cold front is approaching though, bringing some clouds and showers to Northern New England. That front will slide into Greater Boston this evening, producing some dinnertime and night-time showers.

The rain will pull away while most of us sleep, with temperatures dropping into the 40s and 50s by morning.

Sunday is cooler behind the front, but still sunny. Expect a gusty breeze off the water with highs in the 60s and low to middle 70s.

Monday is also bright and cool with highs mostly in the 60s.

We warm back up into the 70s on Tuesday, and by Wednesday we’ll be back in the 80s in many cases. Those temperature changes happen as a series of fronts move through, meaning we’ll also have some showers during that time.

Later this week, behind the passage of yet another cold front, temperatures turn much cooler. We’ll have several days of highs around 60 and lows in the 40s.
