Warm Side of the Front for Easter Sunday

A warm front with mostly very light rain Saturday night brought in warmer weather today, with a mixture of sun and clouds. We are not quite as windy as yesterday.

High temperature will reach 80 degrees or warmer in many parts of New England. The exception is along the south coast, and in northern Maine where high temperatures are in the 50s to near 60 degrees. Wind from the south west will be 10 to 20 mph, with stronger gusts.

Patchy dense fog early in the day should burn off by early afternoon, if not sooner at the South Coast.

A weakening cold front races across New England from west to east with a few showers this evening, and will tend to weaken in eastern New England by midnight.

Slightly cooler, but nice weather is on the way for the Boston Marathon on Monday, also Patriots' Day for the states of Massachusetts and Maine. Wind from the northwest at 10-15 mph with low humidity along the marathon course, temperatures will hold around 70 degrees.

There are more clouds than sun and for northern New England as another cold front works in from Canada. High temperatures at the Canadian border in the 40s to near 50 degrees.

That front will back toward the south and southwest during Tuesday with many clouds to start the day and a few showers. In far northern Maine, it's cold enough that we could get a light coating of snow Monday into early Tuesday.

By Tuesday afternoon, the sun should break through the clouds, with a high temperature in the 40s and 50s in eastern New England, 50s and 60s in western New England.

High pressure should bring in dry weather for Tuesday night with a possible frost, and sunshine to begin Wednesday with a high temperature in the 50s.

A series of weak low pressure systems along a thermal boundary will generate scattered April showers by later Wednesday, that will last off and on through Thursday and Friday.

High temperature remain seasonable in the 50s the second half of the week but likely only in the 40s near the east facing shore with the light wind from the ocean.

The weekend is not an easy forecast, as a stronger low-pressure system may try and bring some rain our way by later Saturday into Sunday. At this point, we could actually use a little rain as it's been very dry with low humidity and higher fire danger the last few days.

The pollen count has also gone way up, so the rain could be useful for that. But we will try and keep it away from our Sunday.
