Despite sunshine today, temperatures will struggle to warm up after the record cold start for parts of New England. Expect highs in the 30s to near 40 degrees. Winds will be light, which means it won’t feel quite as cold as yesterday.
Overnight skies will be partly cloudy, with a light southwest wind. That will prevent temperatures from being quite as chilly as what we just woke up to. Lows will be in the 20s and 30s for many.
Sunday brings more clouds, and a spot rain or snow shower in the mountains of Northern New England. The good news is that it will also be warmer, with highs in the 40s to around 50.
Monday, Veterans Day, will also be mostly cloudy. Snow will likely break out in Northern New England during the day, with just a spotty rain shower in Southern New England. Highs will again be in the 40s to near 50 south, with 30s and 40s in Northern New England.
By Monday night the snow will expand across Northern New England, as will the rain showers in Southern New England.
On Tuesday, much like what we saw with our last storm, colder air will wrap in as the storm passes by. That may allow the rain to end as a burst of snow even in Southern New England. Accumulations there would be very limited, as it looks now, with the highest odds of receiving 3” of snow or more across ski country.
A frigid blast of air rushes in after that for the middle of next week, with highs only in the 20s and 30s!
