Weekend Starts Wet, Improves for Mother's Day

Although the weekend starts on a wet note, weather conditions will improve by Mother’s Day.

Rain is expanding across New England, moving from west to east. Once it starts where you are, we’ll have periods of rain into the afternoon.

With a brisk wind off of the ocean, it will also feel raw with temperatures in the 40s and 50s during the day.

By late afternoon and evening, the rain will taper to more sporadic showers.

The boundary triggering the rain slides south on Mother’s Day, leaving us with better weather.

Sunshine will be most widespread in Northern New England on Sunday, with a mix of sun and clouds farther south. A spot shower still can’t totally be ruled out in parts of Connecticut or Rhode Island, but the vast majority of us will be dry with highs in the 50s to near 60 at the coast, and in the 60s inland.

Monday and Tuesday look bright and beautiful, with highs in the 70s.

Another round of unsettled weather will likely bring rounds of rain Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week.
