3 Tornadoes Confirmed in Maine, 1 in Conn.

(NECN: Portland, Maine) - Four tornadoes were confirmed across two New England states by the National Weather Service.

In Maine, investigators determined tornadoes touched down in Limerick, Alfred and Gorham on Wednesday night. In Connecticut, a tornado was confirmed in Bristol. All four were classified as EF1 with wind speeds of about 90 mph.

A microburst was blamed for damage in Grafton County, New Hampshire. Straight winds -- not a tornado -- were the cause of damage in Brookfield and Chelsea, Vermont.
