Note the low chance of rain in Southeast MA and ME Friday. Localized flash flooding is likely in the high chance area, where numerous storms will result. Saturday, the chance of rain on Cape Cod is actually higher in the morning, then may drop by afternoon, hence the 40% chance. The biggest uncertainty in the forecast is the potential for rain to linger in Eastern New England on Sunday - this is dependent upon the speed of a very sluggish cold front that will slow as it moves east, meaning lingering humidity and rain showers seem likely on Cape Cod and the Islands, but if the front slows a bit more, that would introduce a chance of rain in more of Eastern Massachusetts on Sunday. So...I'll be watching this closely, and that's the reasoning for the 40% chance of rain for Sunday.
