Boston Fights to Stay Warm as Winter Storm Moves in

(NECN: John Moroney, Boston) - It's not just the snow causing problems for many. The bitter cold is tough to take as well.

It's cold, uncomfortable and more snow is on the way. All the snow on the ground in Copley Square is frozen solid.

People are bundled up as they go about business.

It was close to single-digits in Boston Tuesday morning, even with the approaching moisture and storm.

We've already had a number of cold mornings, but Tuesday morning was especially tough for a lot of people as they tried to get up and out.

One person said, “It’s a little brutal. I’m actually about to hop on a plane to Texas so it’s going to be a whole lot different. I’m looking forward to it. It’s pretty darn cold right now.”

Another person said, “I love it. The colder the better. Bring it on. I love extremes. I grew up in the south and always felt cheated because the winters were so wimpy. I love it here.”

One woman said she took the “T” into Boston to avoid all the hassles Tuesday night.

It’s not a bad idea.
