Deaths Reported in Six Different Southern States

(NECN: Mike Nikitas) - The destruction from the Southern tornadoes has been both widespread and devastating, and is now being compared by some to Hurricane Katrina.

Forecasters are investigating reports of more than 150 tornadoes touching down across six different states.

At least 269 people have been confirmed dead. The death toll is expected to rise.

President Barack Obama will tour some severely damaged areas of Alabama on Friday.
