EMS Advice: How to Stay Safe in a Winter Storm

(NECN) - Another winter storm is making way through New England and is bringing heavy snow with it.

A snow emergency is in effect across the city of Boston Wednesday. The snow is falling heavy and at a steady clip.

Steven McHugh of Boston EMS joined NECN Reporter Nicole Jacobs for more on staying safe in the weather.

He said that if you have cardiac problems you should pay someone to shovel the heavy amount of snow for you.

McHugh said to not leave a child in a car while it is idling and you’re shoveling, because a blocked tailpipe can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning.

He said that calls in the heavy snow take longer and that people need to be safe on the road and try to stay off.
