Emergency Workers Kept Busy During Record-setting Heat

(NECN: John Moroney, Boston) - New England saw record-breaking heat Friday, and that kept emergency workers busy as temperatures made conditions dangerous for some.

The water at Carson beach in South Boston was refreshing, but was not the only way to beat the incredible summer heat.

The heat wave has become very annoying - and for some, very dangerous.

"We've been seeing a steady uptick in the amount of calls we've been doing," Joe O'Hare, Deputy Supervisor of Boston EMS, says. "We're trying to encourage people to go to cooling centers, you know, to go to some place where they can get out of the sun, get out of the heat."

John Moroney has the story in the attached video.
