Erosion Continues as Storm Rages in Sandwich, Mass.

(NECN: Jennifer Eagan, Sandwich, Mass.) - Town officials in Sandwich, Mass. say they've already seen more erosion in the last six months than they've gotten in the last decade.

The surf is coming in strong as the town awaits high tide. Residents saw a lot of damage during the blizzard and are concerned they will see even more during the current storm.

"The beach has been washing away," said Ross Van Der Pyle of Sandwich. "I'm gonna go up there at high tide. It's sad. The dunes are really just washing right into the marsh. It's almost like an island out there now. It's changing forever right in front of us."
