Flood Emergency in Rhode Island

(NECN: Alysha Palumbo, Cranston, Mass.) - A flood emergency remains in effect in Rhode Island for the Pawtuxet River in Cranston and the Blackstone River in Woonsocket.

Rhode Island Governor Don Carcieri is warning residents that the worst flooding is yet to come and is urging people to stay off the roadways.

The rivers are not expected to crest until 8am Wednesday morning, and the floodwaters will continue to rise.
