Human Error Not to Blame in Somerville Flooding

(NECN: Somerville, Mass.) - The mayor of Springfield, Massachusetts says human error is not to blame in last weekend's flash flooding.

Mayor Joseph Curtatone met with state leaders this morning.

He says the city has insurance to cover the bulk of the damage to the washed out underpass and flooded public safety building, but he's worried about the individual taxpayer.

Total damage is estimated at $10 million.

He says he has applied for a federal disaster declaration, but it is unclear if it will be granted.
