Inside Look: Mount Washington Observatory

The Mount Washington Observatory in New Hampshire is a non-profit scientific and educational institution where specialists study weather patterns have a great view or the surrounding area.

Our Meteorologist Nelly Carreno was joined by Katelyn O’Brian, a weather observer and educational specialist.

She said that observers spend time on the mountain in 8-day shifts, then they have six days off, but that can change due to poor weather.

Since it’s at the highest point in New England, it gets very cold and very windy. Friday’s temperature was somewhere around 30 degrees.
