When was the last Nor'easter?<br>March 8, 2013 was the last Nor'easter. That one dropped 29" of snow at The Blue Hill Observatory (we had only forecast 10"). I hope that kind of error does not happen here. We would be talking 36")<br><br>This is the first autumn in years with no east coast 'super storm', 'hybrid hurricane', 'extra tropical ice storm' or the like.<br><br>Scituate Town Engineer Kevin Cafferty is taking credit for this rare fall without a big storm.<br>He says, "I am very lucky with weather. The Scituate Lighthouse parking lot is wide open to the sea. We are placing 4 ton boulders in place like puzzle pieces, this project can not be rushed. (Yes we are). It's a moderate to major Nor'easter.<br><br>Looks like wind from the northeast will gust close to 50 mph before sunrise Sunday.<br>We are coming in full 'Cold Moon', that means strong tides, highest near midnight and noon. But not near as bad as last week in Denver (Fifteen Below Zero), or as dramatic as the <a href="http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/cairo-snow-egyptian-capital-sees-2923418">first snow in a century for Cairo Egypt</a>.<br><br>Noon time temperatures of 10-20 in New England are the coldest yet this season, one reason the the snow rain line will not get very far inland.<br><br>We may have to invoke the Thirty Three Rule.<br>That is the TK 33 rule...<br><br>If we experience<br><br>Moderate Snow with<br>A Temperature of 33<br>A Dew point of 33<br>Wind gusts of 33<br>Snowfall Greater than 3.3"<br><br>We also experience damage to trees and power lines.<br>Which means a disruption in the distribution of electricity.<br>The most likely place for this to occur is within 3 miles of the shore north of The Situate Lighthouse, to <a href="http://www.portsmouthwebcam.com/">The Memorial Bridge in Portsmouth New Hampshire</a>.<br><br>more on Saturday..<br><br><a href="https://twitter.com/SurfSkiWxMan">tk</a><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>
