Joplin Tornado Single Deadliest in U.S. Since 1950

(NECN: Greg Wayland) - The death toll from a Missouri tornado stands at 117, making it the single deadliest tornado in the U.S. since at least 1950.

Crews are searching big-box stores and apartment complexes in Joplin, Mo., for survivors and victims of Sunday's tornado.

The National Weather Service says more severe weather is brewing, and the Midwest could be in for another large tornado outbreak.

A relief fund has been set up for the residents of Joplin. To make a donation, text "JOPLIN" to 864833.
