MEMA Warns People to Avoid Roads, If Possible

(NECN)  - Peter Judge with the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency says their biggest concern during this storm is how the buildup will affect roof collapses. As the snow piles get higher and the slush gets heavier with freezing rain, the weight is accumulating on many roofs across New England.

There are icy conditions across the roadways, so Judge is telling people to get off the roads so crews can get ahead of the storm.

He tells NECN that no corners will be cut in the state snow budget, as the safety of residents is their first priority.
