Mass. Gov. Patrick: People Should Stay Off Roads

(NECN) - In a phone interview with NECN, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick said he feels the snow storm was handled fairly well overnight given the hazardous conditions. With no major injuries, no major road closures and a little over 1,000 power outages, Patrick said he was thankful things did not turn out worse.

Patrick is still very concerned about the high tide at noon time Friday and the extreme temperatures Friday night. He's urging people to stay off the roads if possible and he said MBTA usage should be considered given the treacherous driving conditions.

He stressed being mindful of the worsening conditions and that safety precautions should be taken at all times during the storm.
