Messy Morning Commute for Mass. Residents

(NECN: Justin Michaels, Natick, Mass.) - MassDOT reports that over 800 plow crews are on the roads in Massachusetts Monday morning, combating the snow and ice that is occurring for the morning commute.

In Natick, Mass., icy snow was falling on the Mass Pike. However, the roads maintained wet, not icy, conditions.

“It’s not too bad this morning. It was a little bit worse out west. But it seemed to turn to rain right about here,” said one driver.

West of Boston towards Springfield, Mass., the commute has slowed down more due to stronger winter weather in that part of the region.

“Coming from the Worcester area… It was fine. It was just a little bit wet out there. Nothing’s really slippery at this stage of the game,” said another traveler.

Most backups seemed to be simply due to the morning commute.

“It’s better up towards here than it is in Connecticut. Connecticut is more icy,” said another.
