Midwest Reeling From Winter Blast

(NECN/NBC News: Jay Gray) - Just days after the middle of the country was pounded by a massive winter storm, more severe snow and ice is expected in the region Monday.

Wichita, Kansas saw more than a foot of snow from the first system and the next round could be just as devastating.

This latest round of winter weather began with near blizzard conditions in the High Plains.

On Sunday, it was coming down faster than most could shovel in Denver.

The same system is moving into the Midwest, an area still digging out after storms last week that dumped a foot or more of snow in some areas.

By the time the snow stops falling sometime Monday night, forecasters say there could be 13 inches or more on the ground in an area that normally averages 15 inches a year.
