More Than 50 Summonses Issued in RI ‘snow Missile' Law This Season

(NECN) – Rhode Island’s new "snow missile" law is being enforced in full this season.

State police say they have handed out more than 50 summonses since Jan. 1.

According to the Rhode Island law, snow and ice needs to be removed from cars so there are no obstructions to views and there's no threat to other vehicles on the road.

The fine in Rhode Island is $75. Neighboring Connecticut has a similar law, where 2,300 tickets have been issued so far this year in the state.

No such law exists in Massachusetts.
