N.H. Residents Can Expect Long Wait for Power Restoration

(NECN) - With hundreds of thousands of customers without power and downed limbs and power lines everywhere, Martin Murray, spokesman for Public Service of New Hampshire, says crews will be busy Friday trying to assess the storm damage, and it could take far longer to get all customers who lost power in the storm Thursday night back online.

Utility companies from other states have been contacted to help if they can, but "we might have to look further afield to get help," because of the problems in neighboring states. Murray says that "we know it is going to take multiple days to get everyone back on."

The utility plans to develop a town-by-town list and try to give people a better sense of when they might be able to get back on.

"If you don't have power on now, assume that you may not have it on for several days," Murray says. "I don't think I can tell you a town that isn't impacted."

Customers affected by outages in the PSNH territory are asked to call (800) 662-7764.
