Powerful Winter Storm Claims Life of Maine Man

(NECN: Amy Sinclair, Portland, Maine) - Police say a powerful winter storm that
dumped nearly a foot of snow on parts of Maine and whipped up 40
mph gusts caused a number of motor vehicle accidents in Maine.

Wells police say a 59-year-old motorist died after crashing into
a tree in whiteout conditions Sunday night. And in Newport, a
tractor-trailer went out of control on slippery roads and careened
into a house early Monday, wiping out the home's sunroom but
leaving the driver and the home's occupants unhurt.
