Roads Impassable After Springfield Tornadoes

(NECN: Josh Brogadir, Springfield, Mass.) - Two apparent tornadoes touched down in Springfield, Massachusetts Wednesday afternoon.

Governor Deval Patrick confirms there have been four deaths due to the tornadoes that crossed parts of Massachusetts Wednesday.

Two of the victims were in West Springfield, and one person died in both Springfield and Brimfield.

There were two confirmed tornadoes touchdowns in Massachusetts.

Governor Patrick has declared a State of Emergency in response to the reports of numerous tornadoes and severe weather.

1,000 National Guard members have been called up to assist in rescue and response efforts.

19 communities have been affected by the tornadoes.
