Snow Falls All Day in Conn., 6-10 Inches in Forecast

(NECN: Brian Burnell, Waterbury, Conn.) - Light snow began overnight Wednesday and made driving slick for the early morning commute.

State Police reported several accidents, including one in Simsbury that sheared off a telephone pole.

Six to eight inches of snow is forecast for most of the state as the storm intensifies Thursday night into Friday, though some areas could see as much as 10 inches.

As for Thursday, there was more salting and sanding going on than plowing.

People who did head out found it slippery going. Some schools canceled classes. Others dismissed early anticipating the heavier snow later in the day.
