Snowballs Fly in Nation's Capital

(NECN: Washington, D.C.) - The weekend snowstorm that has blanketed the mid-Atlantic with upwards of two feet of snow in some areas.

While some in the area were holed up in their homes, a large group made the best of the opportunity to play in the snow, taking to DuPont Circle in the nation's capital. Typically a bustling, major Washington thoroughfare, DuPont Circle served as a gathering point for a snowball fight. Word was spread through Facebook, Twitter and television commentators.

The Washington Post hosts an interactive snow accumulation map on its Web site.
