(NECN) - Seaside Park in Bridgeport, CT, is under water as Long Island Sound comes to call, courtesy of Irene.

People who chose not to evacuate found themselves wading out.

Some 700,000 customers are without power, courtesy of high winds taking down trees and power lines.

Bridgeport's Mayor has called for an 8 p.m. curfew to keep the streets clear for crews working to get the power restored.

The Governor says some areas may be without power for up to 14 days.
