(NECN: Josh Brogadir, Tewksbury, Mass.) - Damage in Tewksbury, Mass. has all the makings of a microburst, but NECN will let the National Weather Service make that call.
Route 38 was closed down for about nine hours in Tewksbury on Tuesday, and power has been restored to the neighborhood that saw damage.
"I heard a snap, and it felt like a big punch to the side of my truck. And then electrical lines failed and it looked like the sky was falling in," said over the road truck driver Alvin Johnson.
On a 900 mile ride from Knoxville, Tenn. to Wilmington, Mass. - the last three miles got more than a little bit hairy.
About 1 p.m., the top of a tree snapped on Route 38 in Tewksbury, fell on the power lines, pulled down the poles - and one of them was thrown like a lance into the side of his truck, just missing the gas tank.
"I was shaking, I was so scared. My life flashed before my eyes. I thought it was over for me. It was that scary, dude," Johnson said.
"And he was all shaken and we were talking and he started to calm down," said Theresa Barberian.

At Mark's Grooming, the roof got an unexpected trim when the shingles were peeled back, and behind the store, two trees fell down over a car.
Even the tree guy lost part of his tree.
Everywhere you look throughout the neighborhood, fences got crushed and trees were uprooted.
For Alvin Johnson, hundreds of miles from home, the piece of mind to know despite the damage from the storm is that everyone is okay.
"And the weird thing about it, after everything settled down, there was a lady out here she says I just missed. I didn't even see the lady there or the truck. I just saw an open space to safety, I didn't see a person. I could have hit that woman or hurt somebody," Johnson said.
