(NECN: Carrabassett Valley, Maine) - Jamie Potter of Portland, Maine was skiing in the area of Sugarloaf ski resort today when a ski lift derailed.
Potter was one or two towers back but says he felt the lift jerk forward.
Potter says he had no idea that anything was wron guntil after the lift had been stopped for a couple of minutes.
Potter says it was windy at the ski area today, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Potter says he felt a "big bounce" when the cable went down.
Six people suffer injuries, but none are expected to be life-threatening.
