Thousands of Sandy Victims Still in NYC Hotels

(NECN) - Five months after Superstorm Sandy hit thousands of people are still living in hotels in New York City.

The New York Times reported that more than 2,000 people displaced by the storm are still staying in hotels.

Those rooms cost an average of more than $250 a night, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is paying for them.

A city official tells the paper that hundreds of those families will soon get public housing apartments.

The hotel stays are supposed to end by April 30.
