Timing, Snowy Conditions Hurt Commute in Mass.

(NECN: Alysha Palumbo, Lexington, Mass.) - The snow along I-95 in Lexington, Mass. was much lighter later at night than earlier.

Pavement became visible. It was still slushy, so drivers should remain careful, but conditions improved as the night went on.

"My blade just cracked," said Ellen Groves, heading to Burlington, Mass. "It filled with ice, it cracked ... and I can't see."

"Every time the wipers wipe, they get less and less effective. Sometimes I've been reaching out the window pulling snow and ice off of them," said Eric Fisher, heading to Yarmouth, Maine.
