(NECN/WCBI: Choctaw County, MS) - A massive tornado has killed at least 10 people in Mississippi, including two children.
The twister was part of a ferocious storm system that pounded the Southeast on Saturday.
Injuries are reported in at least a dozen Mississippi counties.
One of the worst hit areas in North Mississippi is in Choctaw County, where Coroner Keith Coleman confirms at least five people, two adults and three children, died when an apparent tornado tore through the Weir area.
The twister flattened buildings and downed trees and power lines.
Some people have been trapped inside badly damaged homes.
Emergency crews are trying to get them out.
