Tropical Storm Hermine Blows Into Texas

(NECN/CNN) - Tropical Storm Hermine has made landfall just south of the Texas/Mexico border.

South Padre Island, just on the border, got pounded with heavy rains and winds up to 65 mph this morning.

Officials are concerned about flash flooding and possible tornadoes.

Parts of Texas could get up to a foot of rain.

Hermine is expected to weaken into a tropical depression later today as it moves father into Texas. Forecasters say its remnants will be felt as far north as Oklahoma and Kansas in the coming days.
