(NECN: Wakefield, Mass.) - It was quite a light show in some parts of New England this morning.
Fast-moving thunderstorms barreled through Eastern Massachusetts during the height of the morning commute. Dark skies and heavy downpours were the backdrop for fierce lightning.
North of Boston, a Wakefield woman was struck by a lightning bolt while she was ironing. Her neighbor, Suzanne Powers, describes what happened in this video clip.
The woman was transported to a nearby hospital; she is expected to be OK.
