Waves Crash Over Seawall Onto Roadway

(NECN: Winthrop, Mass.) - Waves north of Boston crashed along the coastline Friday morning, remnants of the storm whose high winds left thousands without power in Northern Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire.

Chopper video shows vehicles passing through a flooded roadway along Winthrop's coast.  Waves crashed against the seawall, launching water over the barrier.

Overnight Thursday into Friday, a wind gust of over 90 mph was reported on Isles of Shoals.  NECN meteorologist Joe Joyce was in the elements Thursday night, and described it as "the most extreme weather I've ever seen" in person.

High winds fanned the flames of a fire that started at the Surf Hotel in Hampton Beach, N.H. and spread to the entire block.
