Winter Blast Leaves Sleet, Snow Over mid-Atlantic

(NECN/The Weather Channel: Mike Seidel: Leesburg, Va.) - West of Washington, about four inches of snow landed Sunday afternoon, coming down at a rate around an inch per hour.

Sleet came down, as did freezing rain. Heavy snow pelted the Eagles during their game, as four to six inches fell around Philadelphia. Travel was rough along I-95 between there and Baltimore.

That storm is heading up through New York and toward Boston. The accumulations will not be as high as the mid-Atlantic, but the impact is being felt at airports between Washington and New York.

Temperatures will begin to climb above freezing Monday morning, helping to improve the situation.
