Winter Mess Causes Traffic Trouble in New England

(NECN: Jennifer Eagan, Leominster, Mass.) - While it may not be the worst nor'easter New England has ever seen, the morning snow, sleet and rain caused havoc on the morning commute.

The snow continued to fall in Leominster, Mass. throughout the morning on Wednesday, and it started around 3 a.m. - making for a tricky morning rush-hour.

The accumulation only reached a couple of inches, but the rain was wet and sticky, which created havoc on the roads. Massachusetts State Police reported several minor accidents.

Traffic was slow-going, and drivers were advised to allow extra time to get in to work.

The winter mess was nothing compared to last year's weather. On Jan. 12, 2011 - Boston got 15 inches of snow, and Worcester got 21 inches.
