Worcester's Amassed Snow ‘like a Cold, Dead Beast'

(NECN: Greg Wayland, Worcester, Mass.) - There are some very dirty reminders around City Hall about how this winter has gone.

It's like a cold, dead beast sprawled along Main Street, about four feet high and 100 feet long.

"Last year, we had very little snow. The year before was a banner year for us as well," said City Manager Michael O'Brien. "We plan for the worst and hope for the best."

Some say the beast has a silver lining. But silver linings, to some, still look grey.

The 100 foot beast is the product of about 100 inches of snow in Central Massachusetts over the winter.

"Worcester is a snow belt for the Commonwealth. We're battle-hardened. We'll get through it and we'll move on," said O'Brien.

NECN's Greg Wayland has more.
