5K & wedding proposal, all in a day's run

(NECN: Chicago, Ill.) – Runner Ryan Snellen of Nashville, Tennessee was leading a 5K road race in Chicago when he suddenly stopped, grabbed a bouquet of roses and ran over to his girlfriend, Lauren Peck, who was in the crowd. He dropped to his knee and proposed. Lauren screamed, but calmed down enough to say “yes.” “As long as she was surprised and said yes (pause) that’s all I wanted,” Snellen said after the race. Though he was leading, Ryan said he was not focused on the race as much as he was on the proposal. The couple plans to get married sometime next summer.
