Movies: Tooth Fairy, Creation

(NECN) – With the weekend on the doorstep, new movies are hitting the theaters. Film critic Ed Symkus shares his thoughts on the latest movies at the box office. Tooth Fairy Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stars as a professional hockey player turned tooth fairy in this film that also features Ashley Judd, Billy Crystal and Julie Andrews in its cast. Johnson is ordered to become a tooth fairy. Three or four year olds who don’t know what their watching would appreciate this film. It goes from silly to melodramatic. Creation Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connolly star as Charles and Emma Darwin in this lovely biopic. It is not about him as the scientist, but Darwin and his wife’s relationship. The pair of actors have been married since 2003, so their chemistry on screen is wonderful. He has a revolutionary idea about evolution, but she is a devote Christian. A Town Called Panic A foreign language film with subtitles, this is Gumby on psychedelic mushrooms.
