At least 95 dead in Baghdad, Iraq blasts

(NECN/AP) – At least 95 people are dead today after a truck bomb tore through Iraq’s Foreign Ministry, along with a wave of explosions around Baghdad. Today marks the deadliest day in the capital city since U.S. troops largely withdrew from Iraqi cities on June 30. Officials say the death toll may climb as rescue workers dig through rubble and debris. President Barack Obama has ordered all U.S. combat troops out of Iraq by Aug. 31, 2010, leaving a contingency of up to 50,000 U.S. troops in training and advising roles.
